March 31, 2011

At the weekend I went to the Love Food Spring Festival in Bristol. It was a great afternoon out!

What’s in a name?

March 26, 2011
So there’s a bag of potato alphabet shapes, a scanner and a quiet evening at home and a few hours later…VoilĂ !

Over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about my name and how I could make it photographic. Our current module requires us to make pdf portfolios of our work to submit to agents, picture libraries and web gallery print sales. Considering the different markets for our work, it has required some deep, insightful thinking and numerous hours on Photoshop!
I’ve also been working with graphic designer, Emma Scott, who has created a lovely new logo for me to use on my pdf portfolios and business cards

The tagliatelle was made by Phil Jackson and his students at Gloucestershire College. It is actually one really long single strand – moving image film to follow shortly!

Lamb at Gloucestershire College

March 7, 2011

On Friday I went to Gloucestershire College to take photographs of food made by the catering students.

They were given a number of ingredients (the main one being lamb) and were required to create a creative meal from them, a bit like Ready, Steady, Cook!

These are some of the dishes they made.

Not a lamb dish, but one of the cakes made by the Thursday evening Cake Decorating class
